Default Bad news day...

So, I had this bright idea and re-checked the maintenance records for my car. It states the 80K maintenance was done, but does not specifically mention the TB. So, I'm a little worried. But I have almost 130K on the car now, so I'm sure something would have exploded, the moon would have crashed into the earth, and we would have ripped a huge hole in the time/ space continueum by now. Definately not going to wait much longer before I undergo that task... Kinda scary, but I'm pretty mechanically inclined, and I know a few guys who know a few things and are willing to help.

While I was checking the records, I noticed, written in the margins, that an APR chip was done back in '02, and a Forge DV was done in '04 (I think). So, you would think I'd be real happy about that, right? Not so much! All this time I was thinking my car had so much more potential! Is this as good as it gets as far as the "inexpensive" upgrades? What a disappointment...

Guess I reeeeeeally need a boost gauge and figure out how much boost I'm actually pushing. I think that would be a good indication of whether or not this chip is actually there... anyone got an old one they're looking to donate to my cause?

^ Ever the optimist!

He's right though man, thats all stuff you don't have to pay for now. That K04 just got a little closer to being under your hood!

I'm thinking there may be a few little problems with my car, because it just doesn't have the power I thought it should if it is truely chipped. I'm not upset with the DV at all, I just wanted MORE POWER UHH UHH UHH (in my best Tim Allen voice...).

I'm guessing the K04 and FMIC are the next power steps, once I get the new wheel and suspension... Of course, once I do that, I may need to get new software with a more aggresive file...

get a boost gauge (pretty cheap) and check for boost leaks (lots of different write ups on this)

Always a good place to look

As for your TBelt problem, have a look under your hood around the TBelt area. If the belt was changed but not noted in the book the mechanic may have noted the mileage it was done here.
