Default Bamboo Time.

Now that my car has changed ive decided to post some pics of the car and provide a little info on my self and the car.

Im 19 currently and am a sophomore in college as a petroleum engineer. I got the car when i was 16 completely stock and my first car, its a 1997 A4 1.8tQ 5sp. Bamboo exterior black interior. At first i liked the color and shifted on and off and now that ive had it for 3 years its grown on me, plan on keeping it forever. Over the past 3 years have had a perfectly reliable car and awesome year round. all the changes have occurred as of friday.

This was the car friday morning.... and how its looked for the past 3 years as well. nothing different just all stock

Took the car to a friends house friday night started coilover install around 9pm and was driving home around 1am and snapped an axle at 75 mph on the highway. pulled over called my friend who i was following and the one who did the install. managed to limp the car into a parking lot and left it there for the night.

Saturday around 3pm we went back to the car and swapped both front axles in the parking lot. We managed to move it right next to a tree so we had shade the whole time.

Got the axles in car ran great all the way home but i was scrapping every where i was 23 gtff and 23.5 gtfr. Tried to mount a pair of 17s on but was rubbing bad and didnt feel like raising all the coils

Sunday drove it around a little being super low loved how it looked but couldnt drive how i like to. but it was still fun.

Monday went to another friends house to help strip down an e30 he is parting out and while doing that i raised my car up and mounted the 17s, BUT they had 235/45 and id rub on bumps, plus they were old and dried out so decided to it was time to just buy new tires just to be safe.

wednesday (yesterday) i went and bought new 215/45 kumhos, which ride awesome and no longer rub and im at a height where i dont hit everything yet the car looks good still.

So to day i went out and took a couple shots of the car. looks slightly different because i put on the front a4 cover as soon as i got home but you get the idea of the progress.

I still have a magnaflow 14815? that still needs to be welded on. also planning on going through the engine to ensure it is 100%, Plans that i still have for this summer are ecodes and all red tails. and for next summer i am planning to go s4 front, s4 skirts delete lower trim on doors, euro s4 rear, and a nice set of wheels.

I know its a long read( if you read it haha) either way thanks for viewing.

Your car looks like it is in fantastic condition!

I am really surprised a young man like yourself kept it stock for as long as you did. So many nice cars get molested by their owners and end up either puking pistons and transmissions or worse yet, wrapped around a telephone pole. This is a fine ending for a Honda or Toyota, but not an Audi. LOL

Back when I was your age, when Civics were laughed at - we were busy molesting any 2 door coupe with a V8 that we could find. Kids would look for V8 Chevelles, jack up the rear ends to the moon (ruined the steering geometry), rip off the mufflers, installed glasspacks and spend our last dime on Cragar wheels and Pioneer stereos. So in that respect, things haven't changed - just the cars....

I have those exact sport edition rims, 16's though.

I love those rims to death, because they fit my silver 2001 A4 B5 AWM perfectly!

that is one of the cleanest 1997 A4 B5's I've ever seen! Take a few interior pics,i want to see how it looks inside.

Do you have any plans for Audio? double din pioneer head unit, perhaps?

I attached a few pictures of her, Audina is her name.

Thanks!
haha yea times change, and cars change. When I was in high school I drove one two audis the other was a B6. every one else drove big farm trucks lifted jeeps. there werent many euros at all. a couple cavilers with big rice cannon exhaust autozone wheels and blow offs.

I didnt wanna have my car stock, i have so many things i wanted to do but i saved up and kept up with maintenance kept it healthy (it has 148k miles)and just DD it. Now that ive been working this summer and have the chance and money, to do the nice things i want im going all in haha. Well not all in because i have more stuff but that wont be till next summer so the rest of the money i make goes as spending money through out the school year.

Now my sisters tells me that there are at least 5 or so B5s just in the senior lot and some more audis in the junior/sophomore lots.

She looks just as good, inside as she does outside, You really do belong, amongst us B5 brethren.

Where did you buy your bra? and how much did you pay for it? Does it come with the lower part for the front bumper, like mine does or you only have the hood bra?

I got the bra because, there are so many B5's where i live and the majority are silver, being its a popular color,my bra makes Audina look different than all the other silver B5's in my area, silver or otherwise.

I have never seen a B5 with a bra in my area and i live in a big city,Stamford,CT. 30 minutes from the Bronx,NY.

I love your taste with the bead seat covers, great color to match your bamboo exterior color. where did you buy those bead covers and how much?

The hood bra did come with the bumper bra also but i just dont like he look with it so i didnt put it on. I got it on ecs when they were doing their clearance it was like 20 bucks and ive just had it in the garage at home for like 2 years.

Yea the reason i got the beads was i liked how itd look on black and it matched well. I paid 24 bucks for the pair plus shipping on amazon.

hey man love the car.

i must ask you, is you're car a sport package?

I only ask because I have the same exact seats as you (they are perforated black leather right)

and am never able to find out why my seats are like this but most peoples are just the black or tan leather non perforated.
