Bleeding Air from Coolant System on 2001 Audi A4 1.8T
Hi Everyone,
recently picked up an 2001 Audi A4. Doing some maintenance. Car starts well. I know I need to get a fuel pump and some other stuff.
I am having a hard time bleeding the air out of the coolant system. I have changed the thermostat, air filter, and the MAF sensor. I have cleared the codes but the engine doesn’t run to normal operating temperature. It goes past the normal point.
I don’t have a bleeder hole like other guides suggested. And when I do try doing the bleeding by raising the expansion tank, it seems like the coolant is being pushed back out through the expansion tank. Is there any other way to do this?. Seems like there is a lot of air.

You bleed through the little hole in the heater core hose. You have to take the clamp off and be very careful what you use to pull the hose off the pipe as the pipe is plastic and can be brittle. A heater core job is no small feat. The whole dash has to come out.
