so my turbo has been making a loud noise for a few days, so i did my timing belt yesterday and while everything is apart i checked the shaft play in my turbo and i moves quiet a bit. anyways i'v come to the conclusion that my turbo is blown and my question is what is going to happen when this thing dies completly? will the car not run? will the turbo be rebuildable, also can i put a gt28rs with out a tune for a little bit? thanks in advanced for your input.

 

onc it blows, it will run a bit, but horrible and dont suggest it. putting a gt28rs in without a tune is not a good call. it would kinda work, but not well AT ALL. and considering the hardware is more expencive than the software, it seems totally pointless

 

yeah i'm probably never going to go bt but i was curious just in case someone was selling a used one for cheap. but i never had a turbo car before and don't know how long i can ride on this before i need to replace this guy.

 

Just get a K04 and a tune...Better power cheaper. No sense replacing your turbo with a stock one IMO

 

ifur gonna replace tho...gt28rs is wayyy more power/$$ ratio

well in that case, i'd suggest repalcing the k03 and waiting
course the k04 is a bit more power, but it really isnt worth it, as not matter what you will allways want mroe power, but with the k04, it really isnt a jump enough to maky any of it worth it. take this from the drunken words of a fool who shold be sleeping....
