Default Which boost gauge to buy?

Hey guys,

So I keep hearing you guys say to get a boost gauge because it's a good way to keep and eye on your turbo, make sure its working properly and all.

How exactly does it do that? If I noticed I'm getting less boost something is up? What is the real use of a boost gauge?

Also which one should I get? I'm looking for something thats not very expensive.

Thanks

The gauge depends on your preference, IMO VDO gauges look most stock in appearance. Then you have options based on your preference for its location, either the center vent (with and without fins remaining), steering column vertical, steering column offset, a-pillar mounts etc. Check out ecs tuning and awe tuning, ecs sells a cheap center vent and I like that the best.

The reason why you would want a gauge is: to look for loss of boost, which equals loss of power. Loss of vacuum, which means you have a vac leak (so can loosing boost), and can cause your engine to run lean generally, which obviously isnt good. The other reason I like is to make sure you dont boost when the engine is cold, it isnt good to boost hard if its freezing outside and your coolant and oil hasnt warmed up yet.

Gotcha. I will probably buy this one:

and just custom mount it in my up and coming center console.
