Default Brake problem?

Hey all here is problem #2 that I have been having. Every once in awhile there is a high pitched ringing/humming noise, (kinda like when you run a wet finger around the edge of a wine glass) coming from the rear passenger side wheel, I think. When this does happen it is when starting from a stopped position. Makes the noise for a few seconds then goes away. Pretty random on when it happens. Is this a frozen caliper or a rusty slider? A few times the brake pedal has gotten really soft while braking, but got firm after pumping it a few times quick. This has happened even fewer time that the ringing noise. I have not had a chance to pull the tires and check this out yet, but plan on doing it this weekend. Any input is appreciated. What are your thought on changing the brake fluid, since i dont know how long it has been in the car. Or is that not an issue. In the recent future i plan on doing the brake upgrade, A8 rotors and TT carriers..... but till then

I would check the rear pads. The pads could be worn down and the wear indicator is touching the rotor when you brake. I also would replace the brake fluid. The brake fluid absorbs water and should be replaced every two years or so. Anthonyz tony@zippyoil.com

Thanks for the resposes guys. I pulled the tires off of the car yesterday and checked all the pads, calipers and rotors, and they are all good. I am going to change the fluid in a few days, and probably change the lines to stainless and paint the calipers and carriers while it is all apart.
