Bunch of questions: help please...
ok so for my new 01 a4 1.8t quattro...
i want to change the driver seat for a automated/electronic one... is it a lot of work to change a seat out???
how do i know speciffically if i have a k03 turbo or a k03s turbo?... what is exactly the difference anyways (how will they feel)
do s4 rims fit on my car (are there certain s4 rim differences inbetween years?)... or are all audi's a 5 x 112 pattern...? speaking of which what is offset..?
i started my car and it was a little cold but heard a pretty loud "flapping/speed spinning" noise... what is that???

RE: Bunch of questions: help please...
You have the KO3s and it is the better turbo. I have 2 of the same cars and that noise that you hear is the same one that iv'e heard too. I think it is normal. It goes away after a min hu? I think that it is the fan clutch, but I can be wrong. Never bothered to look into it considering that both of mine do it, and others iv'e heard.

Secondary air pump - it's down in the lower passenger side corner of the engine bay. As for offset, on an 8-8.5" wheel a +35 offset should be fine. S4 wheels will fit your car with no problem. I have 17" wheels with S4-sized rubber (235-45-17) and according to my tire calculator, the percentage error is very small - at an indicated 60mph, I'm actually going 61.4mph. That's more than small enough a difference for me to not sweat it. As for what offset is, think of it this way. In your mind, look at the wheel/tire from the tread (as if you were behind the car). If you could see through the tire and the rim, to the center section where the wheel mounts to the hub, that's where offset is concerned. Draw an imaginary line vertically down through the center of the wheel, and compare that to where the hub mating surface of the wheel actually is. A zero-offset wheel would mate to the hub directly in the "center" of the wheel, when viewed from the tread. Offset is how far outward or inward, im millimeters, from that imaginary centerline the wheel mount actually is. A +35mm offset means the mounting surface of the wheel, where it meets the hub, is 35mm off of the wheel's centerline when viewed from the tire tread.
