Your best bet is to get a used tensioner from a junkyard, if possible.
If you don't trust in used parts, go ahead and pay OEM price.
I haven't read an article about repairing the tensioner but you can google it if you wish.

Here is the part number to the drivers side for the AHA motor, 078-109-087-F and the cost on this unit is 649.51 for a new OEM Audi part, should you go that way. I provided the part number to help make sure you get the correct one.
