Cannot re-program second key fob

Cannot re-program second key fob
There seems to be a million ways of programming these things with varying rates of success. I hate to start a new thread, but I cannot seem to find an answer.
2001 2.8 30v here
I followed the steps outlined on Audizine by "BlkMaGiC 3526" and I can program 1 key. However, I cannot seem to get the other key going. Specifically, here's what I did:
Now, I figured the same (or similar) would apply to the second key (I have 2 fobs and the valet key). So I tried both the steps as outlined for the second key and I tried modifying them so that rather than pressing "unlock" once, I pressed it twice (at part 2, step 4). But neither seemed to do anything and, in fact, they erased the first key on occasion.
Now, I can confirm that the car sees the second fob because the flashers on the dash do blink every time I press the button and I did just put a fresh set of batteries in it. So the fob is not dead. These are, to the best of my knowledge, the original, factory keys too.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Code:
1) put valet into ignition and turn on 2) get out of the car and shut the door 3) stick fob into the door, manually turn the key to the right to lock the door 4) within 5 seconds of locking the door, press the unlock button 4 times, wait 5 seconds and push it once. 5) open the door 6) turn off the ignition This clears ANY saved fobs that could be on your system. then 1) turn valet key to the ON position 2) get out of car and shut the door 3) manually turn the fob to the right to lock the door 4) within 5 seconds, press the unlock button once 5) 5 seconds AFTER pressing the unlock button once, click it once again 6) open the door 7) turn the key in the ignition off 8) REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION Shut the door and try the fob.

I put the valet key in, on, shut the door.
With the need-to-be-programmed key: lock or unlock the door, the press the corresponding button on the fob. I didn't do a whole lot of 'wait 4.32 seconds' so who knows if I did it correctly, but it seemed to work.
It might just take a few attempts.
