Car stalls at red lights
So I've had this problem twice in the last two weeks or so, I'd like to figure out what's going on before it gets worse.
After sitting at a couple red lights, the engine stalled. Needless to say when the light turned green and I noticed I wasn't going anywhere, I had a trail of people beeping at me -__-. Anyone have any clue what's going on. Check engine light did come on earlier in the week, but a scan showed that the o2 sensor was bad. I don't think that would cause the car to stall, but I could be wrong.
I've got a 2001 2.8L

So you're saying the O2 sensor could actually be the issue? That's surprising. I have to see which one is dead and I'll have it replaced. I guess I should go with that one first given that I read no codes for the crankshaft positioning sensor.
Sounds like you have only taken OBD codes. Before you start throwing money at your car, I'd pull VAG-COM codes. If you don't have one, pay someone to VAG-COM it. The crank position sensor could be the problem, but so could several other sensors. I really think you need more/better data.

Vag com gave me so many codes (like 8-10) that it could've been anything.
I read the Ross Tech wiki about each code and they all related to fuel, spark, compression, incorrect flow, upstream O2, etc.
The common factor was combustion. I knew I had vacuum. I knew I had new plugs. I knew I had compression. I knew I had a new fuel filter also.
I replaced the vacuum check valves, the fuel pump relay, coil packs, cleaned plugs, and probably some other ****. No luck.
I had the codes cleared: just in case. Eventually the p0411 code came back again.
I just replaced the upstream O2 and the long ***, extra-hidden vacuum hose (the only one I hadn't replaced yet) and put some dielectric grease in the new boots.
I'm hoping that solves everything, but I haven't tested it yet. I've had the battery disconnected all week (on purpose), waiting on my instrument cluster rebuild.
