Default CD Player

Hi, I have a Y reg 2.5 v6 A4 which has a tape deck in it which is cracking me up. I once saw a old A4 with a CD player in it so I wondered if I can buy a CD player out of an newer model and simply swap over.

Can anyone help me??

It's possible, and several people on here have done it, but I wouldn't exactly call it "simple." Commonly referred to as a "double din swap." I don't know the exact list of parts you'll need to do it, but I know it includes the double din radio, all the trim, climate control unit, the cage that sits in the center console and holds all that ****, and some wiring. incidentally, the double din radio also has a tape deck...
