cd player error2

I have a 1998 2.8 with the bose audio. I tried to play a cd today but I got err2 message. What does that message mean? How can I fix it to play that cd?

Was it a burned CD? Or MP3 format?

Burn Cd's are terrible quietly so after awhile they will ruin the laser the best you can do is clean the CD maybe unplug the cars battery or wait a day and the cd player will work again if not its time for a new setup
