My check engine light came on and i have had problems with the car running well. I had it scanned and two codes came up. Misfire in cylinder 3 and also crank shaft positions sensor. the car would still drive but would stall every now and then and then the epc light would come on. Today it stalled and would not start back up. Im trying to figure out where to go with this. Please any help would be great. 01 a4 1.8t

 

Sounds like a bad cps. Since you are 01, I think you also have a cam pos. sensor which might also cause those codes. Pull your upper timing belt cover and make sure the belt has tension first.

 

well If there wasnt tension in the timing im pretty sure it would be jumping time. I could be wrong. Just want to make sure whats going on before i start tearing things apart
