Default Check engine light

Ok so this is a 00 Audi a4 Quattro my issue is on my instrument cluster the check engine light does not work I know the 2000 dash does not have a bulbs like my 96 a4. And previous dash on the 00 the check engine light worked but mileage wasn't right that's why I switched to the correct dash to have appropriate mileage. So is there any way to fix the burnt out bulb emissions won't test it cause the light won't turn on

If it's a burnt out bulb, just put a new bulb in. I'm sure there are DIY's for how to take apart your cluster. Open her up, look at the bulb, and find a replacement.

The CEL is only of the only filament bulbs in the cluster, basically everything else is an LED. Take a look at the back of the cluster and you'll see.

EDIT: I guess not, just took a look at my '00 cluster and it'll all LED whereas my '99.5 cluster had 2 or 3 filament bulbs. You'll have to desolder the LED from your other cluster and solder it in.
