I swapped the transmission on my 96 quattro. After everything was hooked up and I turned the key and the car wouldn't start. The temp, oil, and fuel lights are all flashing and the check engine flickers and makes a buzzing sound.

I tried to download the codes using a 280 reader and it failed to link. Fuses all look fine... Vag-com is on the way. Anyone know what issue may be??

 

er, these might be obvious, but is your battery charged, and are the connections tight? Check for loose grounds?

 

The battery does have a full charge and connections are tight. Something is preventing the starter from getting power...

 

I wonder if my ECU is shot?

If so, will vag-com still work?
