Recently came up with a check engine lite on the dash, it turned off after a day and before I could get anywhere to diagnose it..

Yesterday it came back on, and I stopped at the local parts store to have them plug in and see what the problem was... Came back with a code P1296 and when they looked it up said it could be the mass airflow sensor.

I do notice that the car runs rough when in gear and idling (like at a stop light or drive through) The motor rev's and varies about 100 to 300 RPMS....

Other than that slight problem at idle,, the car runs awesome at all other speeds and throttle loads,,,

Anyone run into this before? I'm about an hour away from the closest Audi Dealer...

Mine is a 2001 A4 1.8t quattro
