Hello I have a 98 A4 2.8 30v 5 speed. Under load, I can hear a whistling/hiss/whining sound that stops when I push in the clutch and put it in neutral. Any idea what this would indicate? Could it be possible it just needs bled? If so how do I do it?

 

my car does the same thing. i have a grind in the tranny after bottoming out tho. brought it to a shop and they told me bad bearings in the trans and i need a new one. would love to know why it knocks and makes noise when the clutch is not engaged.

 

Sounds like a transmission issue.
