Default Code P0102

i have a cel code P0102 which is MAF circuit low input. I have cleaned the sensor and I was wondering what else I could check, like common spots where wires are pinched or heated. Thanks

I cant really think of an area where the wires would get compromised to the point where it gives you a "low input" error. It is one of those things that is either connected or is not connected.

my only suggestions are double check the connector as that is a common weak point, or replace the MAF

Agreed with Beau - if it's not reading right and cleaning it doesn't help, it's likely bad.

Thanks for the replies. I was just hoping I wouldn't have to buy a new one because of the price, but now I have an excuse to upgrade it.

I had this code for a while on my previous 01 a4 1.8t. It ended up being the wiring was bad. One of the previous owners of the car rewired the maf wires for whatever reason. There are 4 wires. The one wire is a ground wire that gets connected to the MAF harness and another wire is an earth ground wire that just gets left open and not connected to anything in the MAF harness. The previous owner wired the ground and earth ground wires together which was causing the MAF to get no reading and gave me the p0102 code. Check out to make sure the wiring is in tact. If it looks like somebody previously did some kind of re wiring to the MAF check all the wires and make sure they are connected to where they should be.

I finally fixed it. I took the MAF off, took the back plate off, and sprayed almost a whole can of MAF cleaner into it. Then with the car running I cleared the code, last time I cleared it with the car off and it came back without even starting the car, and the code hasn't come back yet.
