Coil Springs
I see coil springs are a regular topic here, but didn't see any recent posts. Sorry if I missed them.
I am looking for at least one rear coil spring for 1998 A4 2.8 Quattro with sport suspension.

- Are the springs different across the models or sport suspension?
- Suggestions on where to find them are welcome. (I prefer NOT to lower the car since it is a snow car).
A good rule of thumb is to always replace them in pairs (fronts or rears) because that way they are going to have the same amount of wear and tear. Should be able to find them at most salvage yards and also ebay/craigslist.
To answer your first question, there IS a difference between the sport and non-sport springs. If you get non-sport springs for your car, the back will sit higher than you're used to. I would try craigslist or the forum classifieds to find a pair (or whole set), they're usally pretty cheap.
If you'd prefer to buy new instead, you may have to go through a dealership. I don't recall any of the big tuning websites selling OEM springs.

I have found new Lesjofers 'factory equivalent' springs for sport suspension on 1998 a4 sedan for the rear since both springs are broken (love PA roads and snow melting goop...). I am about to purchase from FCP Euro in CT
I am considering using KYB Excel G shocks. They are considerably cheaper than Bilsteins. My concern is that they appear to list the same shock for regular and sports suspension...anyone tried them?
