was -10 this morning here in Ames. My car starts fine, but man, if the trans is cold 1st and 2nd are HARD to get into. Once it's warmed up they're fine.
change your trannyoil and you'll love 1st and 2nd gear on cold starts again
not 100 percent true, i changed the fluid in my 5spd manual pick up and use lucas 90w gear oil and it still shifts hard into 2nd when shes cold...

My car sucks when it's cold. The car sputters and stalls until it's warmed up. I have to keep the rpms up to keep it from dying, but sometimes that doesn't work either. Once the car warms up it seems fine.. although it does still sputter every now and then. Can anyone help? I have a thread going about it here. If you've had this problem too, let's figure it out!

Here's a link to my thread.

Please help!

I have to work outside [:@][:@][:@]and its -28 with windchill.
damn...how does that work out for you? btw, are you from sauga, short form for MISSISSAUGA?

anyway, my car hasnt met any problems yet. The only thing i've noticed is when its cold out, my`driver information display` (DIS) is a lot more readable like its brand new.

Default Bringing it back....

I'd like to bring thise back since it's winter, and our B5's are 6-7 years older compared to the last post on this thread.....

Here in MN it's cold as F! My 2001 has nearly 250K, but is still ticking quite well!

My airbag light always comes on solid if below 10-20 degrees F, then will start blinking as the vehicle warms up, and will eventually turn off after the vehicle has hit normal operating temperature for approximately 15-20 consecutive minutes.

With my K04 tune on my K03s, my crappy stock clutch likes to slip in 4th/5th gears WOT while starting in the low RPM's, however this goes away once the temps hit 40 degrees F or so.

Shifting is a little stiff of course, especially 1st into second, however no grinding thank god.

Drivers seat heater still works, however Passenger side has been out for 3 years or so...wife's *** if always freezing during the winter months, even with a seat heater pad.
