Default Coolant Flange/Manifold Replacement...

So I'm losing coolant somewhere and recently did a new lower rad. hose and everything is secure there. So My only hope in the world that I'm not buring coolant is this damn flange. Came apart super easy after I removed the coolant pressure tank. Now I'm about ready to reinstall, and my new manifold came with a yellow cap for the port where the heater hose connects. Its got notches so it fits perfect over that port...couple questions, It was laying loose in the bag so I'm curious why this is even in the bag to begin with? Just to keep that port clean during installation? It's a Meyle german replacement part from Napa. Also, the port next to the temperature sensor port...are you supposed to reuse the plug from your old manifold? And finally, where the heater hose connects to the manifold, are you supposed to get rid of the clip fastener and use screw hose clamps instead...I thought I read that somewhere but can't recall where. Thanks guys.

Heres the new sensor. Napa was out of the green ones so I had to hit the Audi dealer down the street. Can you believe it didn't some with a new o-ring and they we're considering running my card twice for a $.80 o-ring. They did give in and just give it to me after I gave them the look like...really???

Whichever parts are on the old flamge, but aren't on the new one, should be transferred over - you'll definitely need something at each port. I'd use a screw clamp on the hose - the one-time OEM clamps are very secure but a big pain, especially where they're located on this piece. As for the loose cap, it's there to keep crap from getting inside during handling prior to install - it probably just fell off in the bag.
