Default cruise control issue b5

my b5 cruise control was acting up... worked great at first but then started stop working while it was engaged, then would only engage sometimes, now wont engage at all... is there a fuse i can replace or is it something bigger in the engine?

I tried this and swapped out my switch and it did not work. Next will be that damn pinky and the "brain" unit behind the glove box. Buddy can solder so we'll give that a try.

Check with a junk yard. I replaced mine recently for $25 and my cruise has been working great for 2 months now. You are going to have trouble soldering because half of the circuit board is covered in a weatherproofing coating that prevents the solder from holding correctly.

Just resolder all of the solders in the controlunit and you should be fine!
There is a protective coat over half of the circuitboard but you can remove this by using thinner.
