well i dont think my mechanic is scamming me because he's my friend and it's not like he would get anything out of my engine being ****. and once again i was just asking for general background on the a6 not your mothers car. i do have a cone intake and the puddle was 2 feet deep. There is a hole in the side of the engine. It isn't hydro locked. a piston exploded causing a rod to snap causing my engine to **** itself. It was an old engine it had 230k miles on it so i dont think getting a second opinion would do much for the car anyway

ok, is it a
2.8 or 2.7t motor? more info will help with info.......as stated, the a6 avant is going to be a bigger version of the a4 avant
but if it is the 2.8, all the same issues you had with your car is going to be the same as the a6......2.7t will be turbo's and throttle body boot, tb...... search the a6 forum
and yes if there is a hole, you need a new motor
