I have a 2001 A4 Quattro and the remote for the ignition on the spare key stopped working several months ago. Today I opened it up, removed the batteries and went to my nearest Radio Shack store. About an hour later I had the remote back together with the batteries inserted correctly, but the remote does not work. Do these lose their program if they have gone dead or had the batteried removed for more than 1/2 an hour. Do I have to reprogram this?
