dealer replacing control arms? FSH Under 130k?
ok so i was reading some of the threads while at work and i came accross this one on here. im not going to quote the guy but he said somthing like this.....Apparently this is a known fault with Audi A4 1996+ Models.
The will do you a free check and I am told fix it for free if the mileage is less than 130 and has a FSH.
Give your local dealer a ring. has anyone heard of this? or is/was it a short time deal? i heard they would only fix the lower control arms? if this is true im calling them Asap!
thanks in advance

I don't know about any free fixes on the control arms, but they're a known problem on these cars. It's the ball joints that fail, and they're an integral part of the arm (can't be changed independently of the arms), so when one fails, the whole control arm has to be changed.
No i think they did uppers cause it was a ball joint, there was a recall for some models and I heard alot of ppl got them done free. Mine were done once already under the recall i think so i had to do them myself again. If you call them and give them your VIN they will tell you if ur eligable.
i understand that the ball joint cant be pressed or whatever indenpendent of the arm.. i know you can do bushings an such but it cost alot if you dont do it yourself....dallas i will hit up the dealer tonight (and let eveyone know if they care to know) i mean free fixes with a problem that allllmost seems constant( someone here alllways has bad control arms) and if we could be getting them all fixed for free?! (even if its only the uppers thats still Dope in my book)....
