I bought a 1998 Audi a4 Quattro 2.8 the other day for $1k (has 200k but overall looks,and drives good). A couple days after buying it the check engine light comes on, and I bring to emissions who tells me it is ready to be tested, but with the P0455 emissions code EVAP Large Leak it isn't going to pass. Also brought it to an Audi mechanic who gave me a few other codes, see here,http://imgur.com/a/dy0LR

Could this be an easy fix to pass emissions? I am not expecting the car to last me that long given the mileage and age.. Hell, i'd be happy if its drive-able for 6months to a year. The thing is, it has to pass emissions. I'm trying to do the bare minimum.

Any advice or opinions are appreciated. With the codes from the mechanic I guess it must be a bigger issue than the gas cap? Do you think I should just try to get rid of the car as quickly as possible?

MORE INFO: Car starts fine after filling tank, No smell of gas experienced

 

UPDATE: I got it to pass! Changed gas cap and got lucky ...... check engine light already back on lol
