oh i see. so in other words, i'd be better off to take a chance with speedtuning than risk it with this? i just don't have the money to drop $400-$500 on an APR chip (since they're the closest company to where i'm at)

I would. All the diode does is allow you to create a few more HP by dialing up the boost. The stock ECU can extrapolate the fuel and timing maps to make up for running a few more lbs of boost, but its a far cry from a proper tune. What issues have you heard about Speedtuning? I've never heard of any problems with their stuff.

I can't remember any of the names of the post, but a lot of them said stuff about how some people ran with no problems and loved their tune, but other people just had small issues and so it seemed like it was a little bit of a gamble. i may have just read too fast or something though, so ill go back and research them more. but thanks everyone for the input.
