down and out! (on oil) :( Need some knowledge
My baby a b5 a4 2.8 avant from 1998 is messed up!!!
I was driving to work and there was some road construction. The road dropped like a foot and I was going to fast. Hit the oil pan and scrapped a pretty small hole in it. Oil light came on and I shut the car off drove probably 4 miles dumping all the oil out before the light came on.
Where I'm at now is the car is on jack stands I just jb welded the pan and got some oil and put it in. She started up thankfully but not running right of course! Not hearing any weird noises, no knocking really or tapping. It just misfiring severely as I pulled the codes with vcds lite.
Here are the codes i pulled all seem to be misfiring on same side? Cam Position sensor fault, Knock Sensor fault and misfiring... Maybe someone out there can but this story together?! Need help I don't want to lose this car! Don't know where to start really

Did you clear codes or disconnect the battery prior to starting the engine again?
If not, some of those codes could be residual, in other words they could have been there before the incident.
So if you didn't clear codes already, my suggestion is to 1) clear codes; 2) run the engine again and wait for codes / check-engine-light; 3) report back the new codes.
Assuming it ran out of oil and damage was done before the oil light came on, my guess is that at least the cam journals were starved for oil, causing damage to the cams and/or head.

Yes I did clear the codes and these are the ones that come back.. I did not disconnect the battery yet..
Whats the next step i should take? I should test the cam and knock sensors? Take the valve cover off and start there?
Is there an actuator that is oil fed for timing?
