Drive Shaft Interchagability
Mine: AUDI A4 1999 Avant 1.8T Quattro auto/trans.
The drive shaft that is doing the thump-thump-thump during accel and strong turns.
Got under the car to investigate: the shaft has some clunky-play, probably worn.
Local wrecking yard has a 1999 A4 Quattro w/auto, but it's a 2.8T.
That drive shaft seems very good'n-tite.
SO HERE'S MY Q: Is the drive shaft from the '99 A4 2.8T interchangable with my '99 1.8T?
Both are Auto/tiptronic/Quattro. Shafts are CV--Ujoint--CV.
The yard want's $65+tax, a steal if it will work for me.
