my seat dont go forward or back,any ideas

 

replace the switch

 

Assuming its the electric one, does the motor make noise when you hit the switch? test it with a seperate 12v source to see if the motor still works. odds are andrew is prolly right and its the switch, but you might as well rule out the other stuff before you go buying parts you might not need.

 

For ME.....its the MOTOR. I was all set to get a new switch and I ended up testing it and its the MOTOR!! or electric to the motor as my switch works....

man its gonna be a bear to get that seat out to test that motor. Need smaller hands!!

i havea 96 a4 and if you need the pin outs of the switch I have them as I traced out each buttom movement on the switch as I took the switch out and removed the cover.
