Default Driveshaft Click/Clinking? Need Some Answers

I just bought a 1997 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro Manual with 160k miles. I have figured out that I need a new wheel bearing, but there is one problem I have not isolated yet. When I am driving at any speed and let off the gas, I hear the whistling from the turbo and a click/clinking noise, of which I believe is from the driveshaft. Anyone here have any idea what the problem is, how I can fix it, and for how much? Any help will be appreciated

i've never heard of the driver shaft clicking. i think if it's loose it would clunk more than click. wheel bearing is about an hour job at a good shop. crappy shops will charge you 2 hours though. is that the only time you hear the clicking sound? you should give us more details. the driveshaft hardly ever gives anybody a problem

There are two CV joints on the Drive shaft - one on each end - Most likely this is your problem - Had the same thing and had the Drive shaft CV replaced - Clicking went away
