Default DV question?

So if I change out the stock DV will I get and hold more boost? The place that chipped me said the stock one was fine and that there is no need to change it until the vac test does not hold up anymore

well depending what company chipped you.. you should be boosting (spiking) anywhere from 15-18 psi.. as long as this holds true, you prolly arent going to free up anymore boost, but at some point in time your stock DV's diaphram will tear, and you will be doggin out, and will notice it. definatley install an aftermarket DV when you get the money to because it will make the difference in the long run. the only thing im pretty much not yet is chipped, i did everything else first. and after i installed my forge 007 DV i noticed a difference in holding boost and what not on stock programming. i would definatley reccomend changing it out.

Why would they say that, the stock dv can't hold a lot of boost, you night blow it, swap it out for an aluminum one by forge, or apr. The 710n is alright but can still blow

they have no idea what they are doing then. the stock DV will not hold up to a chip for very long. you will have lots of boost creep and spikes, and eventualy it will fail out right and you will have no boost. when you chip, you need to atleast get a 710 DV from a TT, if you cant afford a better one.

check out the classified ads, get a used forge or apr. apr if you don't wanna service, or forge which you can service and tweak with their spring kits, i think awe has a new dv out too.

the stock DV will not hold the boost of your GIAC chip....

you need to ge for at least a 710n off ot a TT....I ran one for about 6 months and I just upgraded to a forge splitter (just for the sound)...

gl!

Thanks for the advice guys... I had a feeling that would be the response given all the talk on the group buy thread. If anyone want to trade a DV for a turboXS MBC that I used for a month let me know
