Default Ecu relay? I need answers.....

So, having some issues but am also wanting to replace a few things as well. Was told im,having my non start issues from bad alternator. Am ordering one today off ebay possibly (looking for opinions on this as well....pros,cons, what to look for, etc). But was also told im having the same issues my lil brothers a6 had a few months ago....which was an ecu relay. Now I lookd on,ebay to get one just in case....no luck. What the hell is the deal? I must be missing something

Stop, before you order more parts that won't fix your issue get a second opinion because whoever is telling you this has no clue what they're talking about. An alternator has nothing to do with a no-start problem, and just because your brother had the exact same symptoms doesn't mean he had the same problem. Take your car to someone who won't just guess and throw parts at it, then come back here and report what they said.

But if you really think it's the ECU relay then turn the key to the position before start, if the CEL lights up with the other warning lights then your relay is perfectly fine. If not then the ECU isn't powering up for whatever reason.

Well, the whole no start **** is based around this....

-Bought car and always had to jump it anytime I,wanted to go anywhere(didnt matter of it was a 5min trip or a 45min trip....jump start anytime)
-Went and got battery tested-said it was bad, got new one under warranty
-Literally, 3 weeks later back to jump starts...battery re-tested and still good
-Driving home one night, battery light beeped....all lights, radio, and even car shut off. Coasted to a spot, threw jump pack on it and fired up, died as soon as removed.
Had to drive home, about .25-.50 mile with the damn jump pack on my battery. cant jump it now as the jump pack it splitting its power from powering the car and its electronics because the battery is dead and the alt is cooked and not doing its job with assisting the, battery. I was told that on here actually.....im open to suggestions/answers as im on,the verge of junking this car very soon
