Electronic surge/short?
I have an odd problem: Occasionally (it seems to occur most often when I enter the freeway) I'll get an electronic short, or maybe it's a surge.
Something with the electronics will happen and it's very random what it is. Once the sunroof just opened on it's own. Once the radio cut out and just displayed "disp." (I fixed it by just turning it off and on again). Once I was trying to diagnose another issue and had my vag-com cable in and it completely lost the connection and log.
If it matters, the radio is original and I have 0 aftermarket upgrades on the car, let alone in the electrical or climate/sound/interior systems.
Too be honest I have no idea where to even begin with random electronic issues like this. So any help would be welcome. Test the battery? Some wires somewhere that are known to go bad?
Thanks a lot

The sunroof opening is probably unrelated to the others, and due to poor contact in the overhead selector switch. When you scan the car, any codes due to "terminal 30", i.e. the battery voltage? I'd check your battery cables, including the smaller positive one that attaches to the battery clamp. Any problems at that connection, and there will be an interruption of power to the car's electrical system.
