Hey guys i have a 2000 2.8 v6 and it has been cold lately and i have been having weird sounds comming from the engin....im not trying to find out what it is myself im just wondering if i bring it to and audi or vw dealer would they be able to inspect it for free so i can bring it to an independent dealer.....?

 

cmon show anoob some love just want to know where i shuld go for a inspection

 

dealer should charge you for inspection. If the noises go away when warm, i wouldnt worry to much about it

dont worry about it, its just a thing with the V6 it seems, my 12v does the same thing on cold starts its just when you start the oil takes some time to get to the top of the lifters and such. if this is happening even when warm then you have an oil pressure issue, but yeah your engine will sooner or later start to tick a bit after you start it.
