Question Exhaust

I'm thinking of getting a custome exhaust. Aside from it being cheaper than most name brand exhaust's, what are the advantages/disadvantages of having a custome exhaust? Pretty much every thread I read, says to go custome. I'm currently running an apr stage one tune. No other performance mods as of now. Will a custome exhaust give me as much gain as a borla or another. Name brand exhaust? Thanks in advance. I'm looking for a nice DEEP TONE.

People go custom so they can get a 3" and most aftermarket ones are 2.5". Not going to see to much of a diffence in power unti you start getting closer to 300whp. Magna flow mufflers sound great btw

Thanks man, 3" is good for when you plan on running a BT correct? Do you have a magma flow muffler?

the only real disadvantage of modding exhaust is drone. when your cruising on the highway it can sound like your heads about to explode. if done right it wll sound and perform awesome. I had a magnaflow on my 2.8 and it sounded AMAZING

I use a pair of magna flows on my TT, the a4 is stock. The pair kills all the noise and drone but gives it a deep loud tone at wot.

2.5" is plenty, 3" is more than enough

The pair of mufflers? Is it a magnaflow fill exhaust? Lol sorry if I'm not making sense I'm just trying to figure out a way to get exactly what I want. Thanks for the info guys.

What do I need to do if I want to go costum, but don't want to experience drone?

I used a pair of mufflers instead of a resonator and muffler. Running a resonator closer tothe motor will help reduce drone. You can also look into the dynomax mufflers that have a flapper that reduces drone also if you want stock like sound at hwy speeds.

Thanks boss. Imma look into it a little more. I will get a magnaflow muffler. Will that work if I get 3" catback tho? Imma continue to shop around and see what's my best option. And if that will support the apr stage 2 tune.

Scratch everything I've said. Will a downpipe cause a cel? And if I put one on will I still pass emissions ? Also is there a difference between a high flow catalytic converter And a downpipe?
