Talking Exhaust headers

Ok, I'm sure this question has been answered before, but I've been looking around for a set of exhaust headers for the audi, and no luck? I haven't been able to pull my motor out yet so i'm not even sure what the design is. I'm assuming they are a 4 to 1. My whole plan is to put a set of port and polished cylinder heads, and a bored out throttle body. Machining tables work wonders with this, and a decent set of wrapped headers and see what it does for the volumetric efficiency. I'm not looking to dump a whole lot of money into the engine but it still needs a bit more than what it's got. So any idea's will help. I'm new to the forum by the way i've always owned and modified porsche's and this is my first audi.

I had mentioned using a milling table to bore out the throttle body. Does anyone know the stock width(mm) for the tb? I also thought about just extrude honing the headers if no one makes any.

intake, headers, exhaust for that motor is going to be largely DIY. from a performance standpoint, the 12v V6 will give you the fewest options, then the 30v V6 (used in 98-01.5 cars), then the 1.8T provides the best modability. As you might guess by the fact that it only has 12 valves, the 12v isn't a performance-minded motor. intake, headers, exhaust, can all be done, but you won't gain much in the area of HP for the amount of work involved.

That said, welcome aboard, lets see some pics of your Porches

thank you for your feedback. I'm looking forward to disassembling this motor. And as far as supercharging goes it's best to get as much raw power out of a motor (volumetric, thermal, mechanical efficiency's) before throwing a supercharger in the mix. There is so much power to get out of any motor if you have the access to the equipment you need and the knowledge to do it right. hell the first time i ported a cylinder head i hit a water passage, but i learned from it. Let me know if anyone has any experience on rebuilding this motor. I have a ton of questions

ahh very good. that also gives you the option for a chipped/flashed ECU. not a *ton* of power to be had that way, but every little bit helps.
