Default Exhaust Question..

I'm at a point that I'm profoundly fed up with the sound my exhaust produces.
Some people like, but I'm more of a "Really, really Quite Ride Type".

I bought this car with the whole exhaust system changed for an 2.5 inch piping with a Magnaflow Resonator and Muffler.

Now, i've been told that it produces a really amazing sound, but i'm terribly fed up with it.

I've been offered exhausts swaps, but they have almost 200k of mileage..

What do you guys suggest? If i make the swap, will a have a ticking time-bomb under my car as to having the exhaust system changed due to its years of usage in the near future??
I badly need some advice right now, and I don't want to buy new mufflers because i'm 3 seasons away from changing of car. Hence, it would be a terrible investment..

(the swap is based on half way back from before the resonator to the muffler, I keep my cat up to the middle of the car)

if there is no rust on the pipe and the muffler dosent seem to be....how do i say bloated then you will be fine. its only metal and fiberglass packing.

You're gonna have a hard time finding a used stock exhaust that doesn't have a ton of miles. You might try going to Midas or some such place and seeing what they can do for you as far as an "OEM" replacement? Then you could sell your Magnaflow set up and offset much of the cost of replacing it.

Well, I took the plunge and swapped it.
I'm really happy that it's silent

The guy a traded with has several b5's at his garage, so he guaranteed me that if anything went bad, it would be replaced until I sell my car. Also, he changing the flex-pipe on it.

Well, I can't complain. I'm happy and his exhaust looked fine.

Now, I can hear all of the other wonderful sounds my car is making (and my wonderful, I mean unusual) LOLLLL
