Widened it after the cat and went 2.5" the rest of the way. Check the Sights & Sounds subforum - I put a couple iPhone-filmed videos in there that'll give you an idea of the sound.

Ah, got it. Definitely better for costs. A major playing card for me since I live in Hawaii, shipping here is what makes things expensive. So I need a muffler and a resonator then? Dont wanna sound like a molested Honda.

Yup, the resonator will deepen and smooth out the tone.

Then its decided - A resonator is on my shopping list as well.

So Im now deciding between Borla, Magnaflow, and Vibrant. I have twin Borlas on my Mustang, worth every penny IMO for that car. I took a peek under the car today and saw what looks to me like 2 mufflers: 1 oval, 1 round. So is the oval one the muffler and the round one the resonator?

I'll be measuring lengths tomorrow so I can price it all out. Hoping exhaust can get me a little more power out of my A4.

My 01 had 2 1/2 pipe all the way back from the headers, so I just did the same pipe for the cat back. It cost me $80 for the muffler, and $120 for the custom built cat back piping.
