Exclamation Feel like an idiot..

Today while trying out of the toll booth, I not looking threw change into the ashtray below the climate control and missed, then tried to close it. The ashtray now is stuck closed with change under it. This would be too bad except my apartment gate entry card is in there. Ive tried using flathead screwdrivers and credit cards to get it out, but nothing is working.. anyway to take the whole thing out?

Thanks

pull out the radio and the climate control and you might be able to get in there from the top

its conceiled all around. take off the face trim of the ashtray to allow more gap at the opening to squeeze in a butter knife...bend the butter knife to your liking.

Nope there are screws behind the edges of the radio that have to come out first.

Devil-Cant seem to find those screws, and I don't have any desire to rip it out, just want the damn thing to open.

I managed to get it open with the butter knife and get my stuff out of there.. but still whenever I close it it stays stuck closed and I have to use the butter knife to reopen it. I cant see whats causing it stuck but I assume it's change. I couldnt find the screws to take the climate control faceplate off

whats causing it to get stuck are the gears inside that allow it to open and close. theres 3 of them if i remember correctly.

they're plastic, so you either broke one, or it just popped out of place. if you can get the whole thing out putting the gears back where they go is pretty simple to figure out
