Default Flex Pipe Help!!!

Ok so I have a 99 A4 Quattro 2.8 5 Speed.

The flex pipe is leaking and I am in need of some answers. First I am still driving the car and it is getting worse....can me driving the car with a flex pipe leak create some more problems.

Secondly I have been researching it and it looks as if I should just buy the flex pipes, cut and weld, the only thing i am unsure about it is what size flex pipe should I get and does anyone know what is the best place to buy one from?

Please help me out!! Thanks in advance

I just replaced mine and I waited a while. It will just get louder underneath the car and annoying since your exhaust is leaking . I would take it to any muffler place and have them measure it to be exact. My local place had no trouble getting them put in. Your car will not blow up so don't worry too much . Also ecs tuning has them but a few different sizes so...

If you take it to a mechanic or muffler shop, make sure you specifically tell them to use generic ones, otherwise they'll buy them from the dealer and they'll cost you a fortune

2.25"x4 is what you need. make sure you tell the shop not to expand the inlets before they weld them on. my shop did that and they had to do a crappy fill weld job and mine leaks again. like others have said, get a written estimate. also you might need to find a redneck shop to do this job because the generic shops i went to wouldn't do it because the flex piece is too close to the cat and they're afraid they'll mess up my cat.

When I had a leak on one of my flex pipes I took it to a local welding place that installs mufflers etc. and they welded the leak closed and it worked excellent. Only cost about $100, look into that option if possible, they may be able to weld the leak
