Flirting with the idea of an intake...
I have a high flow magnaflow exhaust set up, will be installing the pes G2 kit, and currently have a K&N drop in. I've read the threads about the value (or lack there of) of an intake on a 2.8 but none of the discussions I've come across considered how they might work with an sc. I'm not looking for more hp, but rather better sound and maybe some throttle response. And money is not a concern- so please do not let costs influence your opinion.
I just want to know what the downsides might be from changing from the stock box with a k&N to either an lltek or K&N intake w/ a heatshield.
I've read that the heatshield is not 'necessary' on a stock 2.8 but I will be installing one anyways if I decide to swap out the stock box. So far, I understand that the stockbox might be better at keeping away hot air, and that you may lose low-end torque with the intake. Why might you lose low-end torque? and, would you suggest a K&N or an lltek kit?
