All in all yes it cost them 50 bucks to make a 600 fmi.
The end tanks on the FMIC in the link is cast and then hand welded to the core.

Not to burst your bubble but it still isn't going to cost them just $50. Do you even know how much a robot welder cost and to run?

It isn't like they are making bubble gum and no one has a mark up that high. Funny part is I actually know how much it cost to put a FMIC kit together seeing that 2 people I have known for some time make FMIC kits for the A4 and I now deal with a 3rd person that builds them.

If you Mass produce any thing in the end the company makes big profit. If they sell even 75% of there product it cost them nothing to make.

Yes if there is only a few hundred made then it will cost more. The less that is sold, the less profit they get, the more it cost.

Now if a company mass produces a high quality 600 fmi, (that means thousands have been made) in the end they made big profit and it cost them nothing to make. Thats why ebay is so cheap theres many many many of them out there. The more there is the cheaper it will be. people just have to buy the **** to make that kind of money.

everything you are saying is a general over exaggeration. do you know the profit and expense figures from any specific company? do you know exactly how those ebay FMICs are made? or are you just guessing at all of this?

Yes when it comes to normal things that are mass produced, FMIC kits are not exactly a mass produced part. Now the cores are mass produced but they are made on their own and not with end tanks attached to them.

Ebay is cheap because its a nice place to scam people on shitty products. Believe me the companies selling the cheap crap on Ebay aren't getting rich selling it. They are not making $550 on a $600 kit. But what do I know I have only been self employed for 21 years and have been dealing with aftermarket turbo parts since 1995 seeing that I owned a turbo eclipse before getting my A4.

I bet if I put that FMIC kit on my car it would blow apart in the first week.
