Default Forge DV Splitter Valve

Hey guys!

So I'm running a Forge DV Splitter Valve in the hybrid position. And I keep burning my MAF sensor (probably went through 2 or 3 already) And we all know those little ******* aren't cheap. Am I burning out my MAF sensor by using the hybrid position or should I just go fully recirculating?

Forge claims that your car should be safe in the hybrid mode if you install it correct. (I'm almost positive installed it right. Even triple checked that it was right)

What kind of air filter are you running? Never heard of a splitter or BOV causing MAF sensors to go bad.

it's just the stock air box right now with a K&N drop in air filter. That's what I first thought when it threw the CEL code for the MAF sensor the first time. But it's doing the same thing as last time. Fluttering idle when starting for the first time. Can't run A/C or Heater without the car jumping.

Did you oil the filter yourself? The oil from those is a well known MAF killer. Wash it out, let it dry very well and LIGHTLY oil it. You can also try MAF cleaner, but that doesn't always help.

My mechanic did it when I had my tune up 5k miles ago. Ok I'll try that and see if that helps.

Yeah its easy to over-oil those cotton filters and the oil ends up on the MAF. I did it myself when I got my first K&N cone filter.
