Cool Front ABS Wheel Speed Sensor

The dingleberries that I purchased my car from CUT the ABS Wheel Speed Sensor wires on the front driver's side wheel. Two questions on this:

1) I changed out all of the brakes, pads, rotors, even a caliper... Is this Sensor going to prevent these brakes from being bled out correctly, and the brakes "working"

2) I ordered a new one, and a sleeve, but in the meantime is there going to be drive-ability issues with the car as it pertains to brakes?

3) When the new part comes in, is there any special procedure to get the ABS lights out, or will the lights simply go out when corrected?

Any additional information will be helpful.

As always thank you!

The only thing you'll have to worry about is that the ABS (I don't think) will be functioning. Replace the sensor and the light will go out. Meanwhile you will stop just fine, just minus the ABS.

Thank you. After driving some today after it being bled out I have a new list of issues, but the brakes seem to be working fine, minus the ABS system working.

Waiting on germanautoparts.com for sensor, should be here in the next few days.

Thanks for the help! You guys are great! After I learn a little more about my a4, I will try to return the favor. I am a lifer over at vwforums.com with my MKIII Jetta, hope to help around here too.

+1 but if I remember right (when I forgot to reconnect one of my ABS sensors), the ABS light didnt reset itself after I reconnected the sensor, I reset it with a scan tool (maybe you could disconnect the battery?). The ABS light would only do that if it was connected but had difficulty reading the speed.
