I've heard all good about Chevron Techron fuel treatment and been using it for many years in every car we own. Keeping on top of you air filter is important too, restricted airflow can pull your mileage down pretty bad.

I've used seafoam in the fuel before, seemed to help it run smoother.

I've also heard raving reviews about RedLine injector cleaner. I actually recently talked to a guy with a B7 A4 avant and he said he went on a trip to Idaho to meet up with some old friends, and barely rolled into their driveway with the dash computer reading 5 miles left on the tank, and when he left up there to come back to salt lake, filled up and threw in some redline and then didn't drive home any faster or slower or encounter a tailwind or anything different and said when he got back to salt lake the dash computer was reading 90 miles left on the tank. I'm going to pick some up before my trip down to vegas for the 4th of July and do the same thing he did and see for myself if it really works such a wonder on cleaning **** out.

Isn't going from Salt Lake to Idaho uphill? Would make sense on the mileage then...

Yea, I thought about that as well, but a 90 mile difference seems like a large figure to be attributed solely to using gravity on the way home. That's why I want to give this experiment a shot going to Vegas because my return trip will be more uphill and thus should either confirm or destroy this claim. Unfortunately, Vegas is looking like it might not happen now for money reasons, so I might have to give it a shot some other time in the future.
