Default General Quattro Driving

hey just wanted to ask if everybody has this going on with their quattro.

When you drive in the snow, does your car act like rear wheel drive and then if you push it a little bit quattro kicks in? I never really noticed over the years but seems more obvious now. Maybe bed set of tires in the back.

Basically im asking if quattro is set up where its 60-70% of the power is sent to the back wheels and then 40-30% to front. When you hammer the throttle then it seems to even out.

Just wondering if anyone would know this info, or if my quattro is messed up.
I dont mind it at all a lot more enjoyable in the snow, but very easy to spin out for someone inexperienced?

hmm... weird, when i ran mine on the dyno, it showed the opposite, when youa re cruising it showed perfect 50/50 front/rear split, but when you step on it it splits it into 40/60 front/rear

Stock center differential is 3:2 rear bias, I'm not sure what the maximum F:R distro is though (anyone?). I'm betting your worn rear tyres are causing the "RWD" feel, since with the engine mounted in the bumper my car always tends more to understeer as if it was FWD, until I kick the throttle a bit to bring the back around.

i gotta agree with flippant, although compared to past winter my car is a bit more tail happy, but the torque split is 50/50 and 40/60 when you step on it, the new B* have the T3 diff which is 40/60 and then goes to something ridiculous like 15/85 when you step on it. personally i like th older quattros, i really miss my 5000
