has anyone ever done a complete top end gasket replacement.
They have a kit at ecs that includes valve cover gasket, manifold gaskets, camshaft seals and tensioner seals ect.... I was just wondering what exactly is involved. I know that the valve cover gaskets should be easy, but after that I 'm not sure. Oh yeah, for a 30v v6. thanks
yeah, the valve cover gaskets are leaking for sure, and at 30 a side thats got me up to 60 bucks, and the entire kit sells for 99 soooooo, I was wondering how easy it is to do the rest since I know that you have to take the valve covers off to do any other top end gaskets. I've heard that the cam seals are known to leak and that seems like reason enough given the cost and the fact that I'm gonna already be in there. let me know if i'm ahead of myself by all means.
honestly, i would not bother with anything else but the VCGs for now. even though the entire kit is 99 bux, the amount of work is ridiculous. you literally have to take the whole top end off which if you're gonna do that, you might as well do piston rings too. i estimated a first timer 2 days for the whole job. a first timer doing only VCGs 2 hours max.
