headlight problem...
My headlights aren't working and from what I have read it sounds like I will need a new switch... So my question is does anyone in the Mesa, AZ area know a good shop that could install this for me? Could also be in Tempe, Chandler, Scottsdale, etc...
im new here too, but this just happened to me and it was the ignition switch...BUT i had no wipers, a/c blower, temp display, rear defrost, AND brights still worked when i pulled the stalk back. the back of the ignition switch was burnt up. there is a good writeup at audidiy.com - click on b5 platform - i'm assuming you have a b5
Yea i have checked the wipers, i KNOW my a/c works cause i live in AZ and all the other stuff works... brights are the same way on mine... i am not the greatest with DIY work though...
its very simple. If you know how to unscrew something then this will be a piece of cake. Just make sure when everything gets placed back on that your steering wheel is set correctly.
One step I did was to lock the steering wheel and then make certain that the black box thing that locks it in place is installed the same way ( you'll see what I mean when you remove the wheel )

alright so this might sound like a stupid question, but i am curious... I have taken of my steering wheel and column and was wondering if i had to put everything back together to test and see if my journey to the light switch worked or if i can just plug my battery back in and check...???
