headlight relay???

It sounds like yours may have been dying (and drawing too much current) for too long. It may have damaged the wiring. If not, then it would be another switch failure. It sucks.

Ah Ha problem solved..took steering wheel and cover off..found black and yellow wire (X) frayed and shorted out...wiggled it around and eureka headlights came on..unplugged it from the pin and clipped a fresh wire on there

Conclusion: Originally last year when the switch went bad I sand papered it and cleaned the conductors even though it was burnt out and had melted the plastic groove it sits in...couple days later it went completely out and also burnt out and frayed black and yellow headlight (X) wire.
